Melbourne Skyline Sunset, a photo by Christopher Chan on Flickr.

Melbourne’s CBD, compared with other Australian cities, has comparatively unrestricted height limits and as a result of waves of post-war development contains five of the six tallest buildings in Australia, the tallest of which is the Eureka Tower, situated in Southbank. (Wikipedia)

Supermoon 2012, Mount Hamilton

Supermoon 2012, Mount Hamilton by Christopher Chan
Supermoon 2012, Mount Hamilton, a photo by Christopher Chan on Flickr.

My original plan was to try to capture the supermoon rising behind the Lick Observatory, which is on the ridge, to the left of this scene. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the alignment correct. Luckily there was some foreground interest to allow me to re-compose the scene.
